Lime Tree Gallery is Alex's first shop that opened in 2000. What was once an old disused stable has been transformed into the shop we love today. In the early years of her career, having just started out selling her art prints and greetings cards. She was influenced by the gorgeous local surrounds and meeting her customers which helped to develop her style of art. She has now expanded into a wide range of homeware, kitchenware, accessories and gifting. As Alex has grown up in the North-East she feels very strongly about helping independent and local traders. She stocks various items from decorations, jewellery, clothing, soft toys and unique and quirky items which makes a visit worthwhile.
Recently refreshed, the Gallery is now run by Alex’s close friend Lisa, who shares the same passion in supporting local markers and artisans.
Stanhope is a picturesque haven for visitors seeking rest and relaxation amidst beautiful surroundings. The peaceful waters of the River Wear provide an idyllic backdrop for those who enjoy being outdoor and active too, with the ford at Stanhope a popular location where walkers can cross the river using giant stepping-stones.
