Alex Clark @ Lime Tree is Alex's original shop that she opened in 2000 after buying a old disused stable. In the early years of her career she spent many working days here and became aware of the style of art her customers liked. This became enormously influential in the direction she moved when establishing the look you see on her instantly recognizable greeting cards, stationary, textiles and homeware today.
Alex feels very strongly about helping independant traders, therefor she buys alot of quirky individual items that you can't get in any old shop and displays these in her shop wether that is ornaments, jewellery, clothing, soft toys or greeting cards, there really is something for everyone .. its well worth a trip.
Why not pop in and see the lovley Elaine or Diane who are both happy to help :)
A Bit about Stanhope
The town is a picturesque haven for visitors seeking rest and relaxation amidst beautiful surroundings; the peaceful waters of the River Wear provide an idyllic backdrop for those who enjoy being outdoor and active too, with the ford at Stanhope a popular location where walkers can cross the river using giant stepping-stones.
Take a look at the discover Weardale website if you want to have a look at what else you can do in Stanhope as well as visiting The Lime tree Gallery.
